Host a craft night
Share
Our kits are perfect for hosting your own craft night where you can come together with friends or family to socialise, make memories and unleash your creativity.
This post offers some tips to help throw a fuss-free event that you can enjoy along with your guests.
Plan Ahead
Get into people's diaries a few weeks out and aim for a time slot that suits the pattern of people's lives.
Groups of 4-8 work best in homes, depending on the space you have available.
If you're throwing something larger, for example as a fundraiser for a club or community group, make sure you have a extra people on hand to help welcome guests and assist guests with their creations if needed.
Be Prepared
Pick a kit or kits that suits the skill levels of your guests - our kits come in 3 difficulty ratings, with 1 being the easiest, and 3 being the most challenging. You can read more about this on the About Us page and each product lists the difficulty rating.
Make sure you have all the items you will need to provide for each kit - these are listed in the instructions in the kit and on the product pages.
Make sure you've read and understand the instructions.
Get Some Practice
If you like to be even more prepared to help you guests during the event, you can have a practice with a spare kit before hand so you are familiar with the process. This may be helpful for the higher difficulty rated products, depending on your skill level and confidence.
Creative Space
Use a space that has plenty of room for people to work on a flat surface - dining tables or kitchen islands are perfect.
If you are using sewing machine(s), set this up somewhere guests can easily get to so they can take it in turns.
Socialise and Relax
The best creations happen when we are relaxed and happy, so take some time to let your guests settle in when they arrive, socialise a bit, have a drink and/or nibbles.
Remember to enjoy the process, make some memories - this is as much about the joy of the experience as it is about the object you create.
Unleash the Creativity
Everyone's creative process is different, so keep it loose and allow people to work through creating their items in their own way - some will rush ahead and be done really fast, others will want to talk it all through before starting, some may need some help, others will find their flow and steadily work through the instructions.
